Wood Stoves Certification
Since 1988, EPA has required manufacturers of wood stoves to certify that each model line of wood stoves offered for sale in the United States comply with the EPA particulate emissions guidelines in the Clean Air Act. EPA-certified wood stoves are cleaner and more efficient than a wood stove manufactured before 1988. As part of the certification process, each wood stove model line is required to undergo emissions testing in accordance with EPA Reference Method 28 and sampling methods 5G or 5H by an EPA-accredited laboratory. Only after successfully passing these tests can a wood stove be offered for sale in the United States.
All of Hearthstone's currently sold woodstoves and pellet stoves are well within the EPA's reguired specifications, and are EPA certified. All Hearthstone models sold since 1988 are EPA certified. Our wood and pellet stoves are among the cleanest burning - if not the cleanest burning biomass fueled models available. Our beautiful, clean burning, non-catalytic stoves provide better overall performance, greater heating efficiency, cleaner chimneys, and lower maintenance.

Gas stoves are designed to burn either natural gas or propane. They emit very little pollution, require little maintenance, and can be installed almost anywhere in the home. Today’s gas stoves can be vented through an existing chimney, or direct vented through the wall behind the stove.
All of Hearthstone's gas stoves and inserts exceed the EPA's reguired specifications. Our beautiful, clean burning, gas fueled stoves provide excellent overall performance, heating efficiency, durability, safety, and lower maintenance.
